What are the dangers of energy drinks?

Dangers of Energy DrinksIt’s easy to follow all the hype about energy drinks… They’re tasty and they increase out metabolism. This promises to be good in our weight loss journey! But are they safe?

The energy drinks bear all sorts of vitamins, caffeine, and several other components that simulate the feeling of freshness and replenish you with lively energy. The components responsible for this are Taurine or Carnitin. They increase your metabolic rate and your concentration. They will also reduce fatigue symptoms.

The consumption of energy drinks is really popular among young people particularly when consumed with alcohol drinks.

Again the question you should be asking is: Are you aware of the dangers of energy drinks?

Among the primary components of energy drinks is Caffeine. Although It may increase your alertness, it won’t give your body any energy. This makes you push your body well over its limits. Did you know that a non-alcoholic energy drink has up to 320 mg/l of caffeine and that the daily recommended dose is less than half of that – 150 mg/l per day?

But there’s more. Some studies alerted for the dangers of energy drinks and have demonstrated that there the most popular energy drink (I’m not mention to say the brand…) can be deadly to humans. This drink was already banned in Australia and New Zealand. In other countries like Denmark, France and Norway energy drinks can not be sold in food stores, being allowed only in pharmacies as they’re treated as other medicines.

It seems impossible but there are some documented cases of death of youngsters that have drunk really large amounts of energy drinks after finishing working out. There’s also the case of a young basketball player with 18 years old that deceased immediately after the match. Before the match he had drunk 3 cans of non alcoholic energy drinks.

There were already several warning by the Federal Health Services about the dangers of energy drinks, mentioning the damaging effect they could have and because there’s not enough info about the energy formula safety. The consumption of energy drinks combined with alcohol might cause huge alterations in the human brain and in the body’s physiological state.

So when and in what quantities can we have in order to avoid the dangers of energy drinks?

Consuming 2 or 3 cans daily could cause not only increment of anxiety or insomnia, but as well fatal arrhythmia, an abrupt growth in blood sugar and can also boost blood pressure.

Even the producers advocate to drink a maximum of 2 cans per day. But to individual with hypertension, it can easily induce a fatal hypertonic crisis. Children, pregnant women and individuals suffering from cardiovascular diseases should not  drink energy drinks.

A lot of countries already have demanded a complete examination and the determination of the dangers of energy drinks and their ingredients. To assure safe utilization, the maximum amount is 2 cans per day.

But even if consume less then 2 cans per day, are energy drinks good for?

Will they help you to lose weight? Or do they make you fat?
